I use XBMC regularly, but it crashes every 20 songs, and wont go backwards on movies. I'm beta testing Elisa media player, for the guys who saw the article where I ran them in the dirt and found that I was good for constructive Criticism (long story). I love VLC but it's hard to link it so much when the Skins don't even support most of the buttons, for some awful reason and the fact that changing skins is screwed up in the current version.
I don't really care for media players that don't do DVD's otherwise songbird would take the resource hungry cake.

Well since my Ipod forces me to use Itunes I have that I have winamp because it has the nice playlist into a HTML page function to list all my songs for people to see, other then that I have regular windows media player not to fond of any of them to be honest, I guess which ever one I just manage to click first is the one I use.
Definately iTunes for me, only on Mac though
When I'm on Windows(when I'm programming so regularly), I plug my iPod into my bass amp and listen from that since I don't keep my music on Windows
