I loved Fallout 2, and I'm hearing some good things about Fallout 3, but is it just Hype? Kids nowadays don't know how to judge a game...they think it's all graphics and are trained to believe in Hype.

From what my friends have said, this is a very good game, but it is long for something that at first glance appears to be an FPS. I would recommend renting it first if you can.

Yeah, my first reaction since they didn't put out a demo is either the game is lacking, or it's horribly short on gameplay. And, since they turned it into a fps, I'm also guessing that it's targeting the MP crowd and SP was ignored; that seems to be the formula nowadays.

There is no MP is Fallout. It's a good game. I've spent quite a few hours playing it.

I actually wrote a review about it, and there are several threads about it. This game is fairly old now, still fun to play once in a while.

Fallout is actually harder if you only use FPS. The VATS system really limits the FPS nature of the game. I use it all the time, and the FPS really only happens with melee.

As far as gameplay, you get an epic main quest, a bunch of side quests, and a load of random encounters that really make the game fun.

I love the game, and wish I could play it more. Stupid school...

It can keep you on your toes and is quite challenging if you don't use VATS. The thing I hate about it is when you finish the main story line, the game ends. that's it. Nothing else. In Oblivion (which I love) you can do every quest in the game (and thousands of user-made ones) and the game will never end until you say it does.

Hey Pwn, most people don't even look at the graphics and besides
I reckon that hype kills games because you expect more than what
is given to you. But anyway Fallout 3 is a definite YAY!

What game are you playing? I don't recall ever getting a steel ingot and I've played FO3 for many many hours.

Me either. I'm waiting to see if broken steel will be worth it and then I will buy the DLC.

Well I have the Pitt and Operation Anchorage.

The Pitt is good, I like it -
I did not care for Operation Anchorage.

Google it. I found a video. But I did it before I found the video. The power armor is pretty cool but it looks really stupid if you are playing as a girl.
The man opener is kick ass. I really makes the game worth playing. By the way I have spent countless hours playing and I am still finding things. I'm at level 20 and it is still worth playing.

I have thoroughly enjoyed this game. I don't really think I'm all that far along the main quest line, as I'm taking my time (and my xbox stopped playing discs about a month ago, it's waiting for me to get it repaired). I've probably played for about 20-30 hours and I think I'm less than halfway through the main quest line.

As far as the Broken Steel DLC goes, it will be worth any price, because it will allow the game to be playable after finishing the main quest.

Broken Steel DLC? Have not heard of that yet. Is it 360 only because I am playing the PC version.
