hi,

I have : x'=x+a(0,d) where 0 is the mean and d is standard deviation

N(0,d) is a normally distributed random variable with mean zero and pre-selected standard deviation. I have the value of x and the value of standard deviation. how can compute N(0,d) to get its value and add it to x.

Thanks a lot.

erm, depends how you're doing it. Most programming languages have a function to generate a random number from N(0,1). Just need to convert this to what you want. Without knowing which language you are using its hard to say what the function is, but generally the name will include some or all of the words and/or letters from {Gaussian, Normal, Random}.
