Just wondering if anyone would care and look at my design for a website(attached). This is just a prototype and I will be using CSS. I am just looking for advice on how I can improve it and things I might need to include. The attached is just an image and later, I will configure it to become a website. Also I am most likely to create it in Dreamweaver, but if anyone has a better program, please tell me.
Advice can be on (but not limited to): -- saying its crap! -- layout -- positioning of objects -- color scheme -- anything else!
EDIT: This was the original. Improved are below. The black part is where (maybe) an image will go. The white rectangles are website links and the main white body is where the information will go.
Thanks...

I can't see anything wrong with it and to me the colour scheme seems just fine.
I could see some data for a logged in user (if the site's going to have member etc) or a title or something going where the large blue square on the left hand side is. That square (if it remains empty) seems like a waste of space.
Maybe the white links could be drop down menus that have links to parts of the site, but that depends on how many pages your going to have etc.
Of coarse I'm not expert on the matter of webpages!
I think it looks nice, and would like to see it when it has more stuff on it
since my last two blogs were just sitting there to be published and after the feed back i got, I've decided to "fully" design my own. I dont want to use someone else's because it just isnt me-- Firebolt=original.
It'll probably be a blog mixed with something else but not 100% sure.

border size is fine, but needs to be a lot lighter. also less of a transition on the gradient and maybe even add a bevel in photoshop but turn down its oppacity (just a small bevel to make it purdy.)
I think it's too simple... Needs something to spice it up, try adding some depth to it (you'll understand what I mean with the link I have at the end). What program are you using? If you have Photoshop, I could get you some tutorials, nice and simple, that would create stunning layouts. What about a banner too? Though that might not be necessary. If you want to see an example, here's a layout I made, it has some good depth:

Its just a layout. Nothing is really happening yet. Also for links its the [URL] tags not [CODE]. Oh ye... I'm using Fireworks (meh.). But thanks for the advice!
