Program Ideas

Posted 20 April 2009 - 04:14 PM

So I am taking an intermediate level O.O. programming course with Java as the subject language. I am required to create a personal program that is useful and incorporates many of the tools featured in Java for software developement. There is only one major rule. The program can not be a game! So any ideas? :D

I now Oracle SQL. Maybe a program that loads a lot of common data into a large database. (e.g. Personal Scheduler with Calendar) What are some other sweet Java programs that can implement the database technology?

So that implies probabilities and statistics (e.g. exponential growth
growth = Ce^rt ) Haha naw. It sounds like a good idea but I and my classmates don't really follow the stock market. Let's see... How about a book base (e.g. library) naw... Hmmm...

Or an Inventory programs with Items and DVD... clean one
we have thousands of questions about this each trimester... we could post your code in the Code Snippet (as I did for LotoNumber generator and Deck of cards shuffling) and next time we'll have an Inventory program question we could answer |go see trixt.er code snippet
