Make an Anti-Virus in VB 2008

Hi

I am trying to make a anti-virus program in VB 2008 can anyone help me, I was thinking you could have a database with all the Viruses then it runs through the system and checks for any.
Please help I have no code yet.

You are going to want to identify the viruses using hashes.. not the entire code. That would make the database too big,
