I am currently a student, most of my programing has been in VB in the past. I am taking a C++ class and have played around a bit in C#.
I realize that it is good to know several languages and that the concepts of programming are more important than the particular language.
But as a beginner to intermediate, where should my focus be? My school just revised its computer information systems program.
Before the change they had a Java and advanced java class as well as C++.
Now, they don't even offer C++ and only one Java. But they added C# and Advanced C#.
I thought it would be best to stick with C++ but now I am thinking I should focus my efforts on C#.
What do others think?
What language to focus on?Where is the future? C++, C#, Java?

Right now, stick with whatever you're learning in class. You'll get the most coverage from it since you'll be using it the most.
(By the way, good screen name)

I'm working on learning Java right now. I'm know C# and C/C++. I find Java easy to pick up with what I know of C# and C++. Also, if you know VB I find learning C# a little easier because they both use the .NET Framework, the main difference is their syntax and usage.
Hope I didn't confuse you.

Was this relative to the question? Anyway, that's awesome!
As for what Mr. Bungle asked, I'm currently a Java coder. Though, I wish I had experience in C++ or C#, because I've heard that would make my job easier in Java. So, I'm working on expanding into other fields.
As for the future, I'd assume C++, C#, .NET, and Java (possibly), but then again, I'm only a beginner, so you'd probably want to hear what the experts have to say.
Who knows, there could be more languages on their way.

There was a thread which describe what programmers needed to know in the future. Have a look for it. I think it said any .NET language would be a boost so focus on C++.NET

Thanks for the advice, I have played a bit with C# and find it easier and more natural then C++ (Probably because all my experience was in VB).
I think what I am going to do is resist my earge to study C# at least through the summer

According to the Tiobe index, Java is #1 and will be for a long time, followed by C and C++.

Check out this graph from the same site. Java (at least according to this) has been declining since 2002 when the graph starts.
Anyway, I think a knowledge of both C (C++ if you want to stick with OOP) and Java (maybe C# as well) is the best thing you can do to increase your job possibilities.
