Before starting, note that I will be using Macromedia Fireworks MX 2004 and results of this tutorial may differ with other versions. This tutorial is very simple yet shows a great effect.

Also, I will first show you the result of my tutorial, so you can understand the nature and difficulty of this tutorial.

I have used DIC's header and implemented the name into the background.

• To begin, we first paste an image on the canvas so in this case, the DIC header.
  
  
• We then type in text, so we type in </dream.in.code>. I have used ORC A Extended which should be included in all Fireworks and Windows.
  
  
• Then with the text selected, go to the Properties window below the screen, select Effects --> Bevel and Emboss --> Raised Emboss.
  
  
• For the text, the properties are as followed:
  • Width - 2
    
  • Contrast - 100%
    
  • Softness - 0
    
  • Angle - 30
    
  • Show Object - Unchecked

And now the result should be the same as mine.
