Why some people say "I could care less" instead of "I couldn't care less", even though only one makes sense in the context it was said in.

I Googled how to remove skin staples. Got 'em last night at work after I stabbed* myself with my own knife.
I've taken out many a stitches from my body but never had staples so I figured I would see how the fancy scissors ( turns out they don't actually cut the staples though) work.
*Stabbing oneself does make you feel quite idiotic

Yeah I stabbed myself at work once, I was stupidly slicing this wrap stuff and slipped and stabbed the knife into the heel of my hand, I think i narrowly missed important things

i was checking if i may have fried my logical board on my mac(yes i'm using my vista again blah! i hate it)
maybe you guys can help me: i plugged it in and my mac died and i started smelling a burnt rubber smell. what do you guys think? i know i should probably know this, but i don't.
