hotsnoj, how about posting a nice database query snippet... something that accepts username, password, database, a query, and then outputs the results... ?!

i think this might be a prime candidate for the code snippet section josh

He could have been joking though. With him, it sometimes hard to tell.

Just posted some C++ bits I've always found useful. Chris: in your instructions box you can't type <<. Doesn't show up.

Thanks. I'll post more as I come across them when I'm reviewing all the stuff I've worked on.

EDIT:
Added a (longer) snippet about using deques in recursion. Not exactly general, but I've found it useful for when you have to call a complex function from within itself. I know it's probably not the best way out there to do it...but hell, I'll show it anyways :P.

definitley, if it's snippets add it there, if it would be better suited as a tutorial, add it in the tutorial area.

so do these code snippets have to be "idiot proof" or "hanosh proof" ?

They need to run, they need to be useful, they need to be commented, and they need to have instructions on how to use them.

A good example of a snippet for say... Javascript might be something as simple as a CSS style switcher... or as complex as a credit card validator...

Hanosh proof is not a real life term, while many of the members have had hanosh as a teacher dream.in.code is not a RRHS help site, please remember that in your posting, your posts should be legible to the entire community as a whole.
