Also a term predominately used over in the UK.
I have a few websites, one that I use for a playground which i am considering using as a portfolio page, a consultation website and a eCommerce site I was playing around with a while ago that I need to do something with.

It's not just a show-off term. "Resume" is the standard term in the US, "CV" is the standard term in Europe. But, like you said, in the US, "CV" is mostly used in academic circles, where education and research projects tend to be emphasized over professional experience.

Hey guys, i just started making my personal website. This is the first website I have done(Im not a internet programmer). All I really have done so far is the homepage which i created from scratch(buttons and banner either in paint or photoshop). Can you guys tell me what you think of the layout/looks of my homepage? I realize that optimus prime is not a very professional thing to have on my website(even though it looks sweet)... so the pic will probably change.
