Can anyone recommend a good book or site to get started with Ruby and Rails development? I am entirely new to Ruby and Rails, but not OO development. I would like to learn how to build a Rails web application. Thank you.

yes ruby is brilliant for making RPGs or any sort of game. You might want to look into a few libarys tho, i recommend Gosu.
i've used that to create a few games, and i have also managed with a network libary to convert one of these games to an online game, only 5 players but still it was online ;)
