I have this:

 My.Application.MinimumSplashScreenDisplayTime = 10000

which I reckon should keep the splashcreen open for 10 secs but it doesnt - infact nothing does.

so my question is how do you keep the splashcreen open for longer?


the above code is in the splashcreen form loading events and i think that that is the issue but where elses can I put it?

You can make your splash screen the startup form, rather than the splash screen, and then add a timer which ticks every 15 seconds (or whatever) which closes the form, and opens the main one.

yer but thats kind of side stepping the problem nice idea but maybee not.

It has exactly the same effect, unless you need to do that for a specific assignment, I suggest you use it.
