Do you have a little more information? Such as a key, a methodology used to encode? Is this part of an assignment, or just some random string?

No, I mean the methodology (manner of encryption). Here's another way to approach the problem...where did you come up with this string? Who gave it to you? Is it from a website? Is it part of a larger problem?

Amadeus is right...Not even the smartest Cryptographers can crack this one if they aren't given any information as to what algorithm is used, possible keys.
In case we decipher this text, what will the plaintext give you?
Having such hints will simplify the process but deciphering current cryptographic methods is nearly next to impossible as some take more than 10^21 years to crack.

So if it's encrypted with a simple algorithm, you're in luck...Else...I'm sorry pal...

Little ethical point: The 'basic' purpose of encryption is so that nobody is able to read it. If something is encrypted you are not meant to read it. If you are trying to read something that is encrypted, you're trying to read information that is not meant for you.

If you are meant to decrypt and read it, you will be given a way to decrypt it by the party that encrypted it.

End.

[note] No, i'm not being a pansy :P just a little over-cautious at times ;)

octal doesn't contain any letters in the system as it is base 8. maybe you mean hexadecimal?

Again, I ask...where did you get it? Where does it come from? Did someone give it to you? The answer may help.

The code is from a Riddle ^_^, Just so you guys know. But Hex wont work because it dosnt go up to Q, Although a clue is that it is a Base Code.

Finally, a little information...I'm quite certain there are a number of people here who could have decoded it given something more than a string of characters...no clues were given, no hints as to origin or encryption method...was the expectation that someone just apply all the decryption methods they know to it?

Can you prove it by posting the decryption method, or is the challenge now to find the decrytpion method given the answer?

Hello, at first sorry for using this topic, but I have similar problem. I want to get my lost password from one forum (mysql) and i get it in code - d3a2bdeaf4274577b4552bb1ad40b19b - I think it is a MD5 code. Can you decode it maybe? Thank you very much
