I guess this is kind of old news, but I don't really use Windows at home so I wasn't aware of it. Just got to work today and unlocked my computer, only to notice that I had a new toolbar (Windows Desktop Search) and a new system tray icon (ditto). This thing apparently indexed my computer and was sitting idle using 40-50mb of memory. Now my work computer is kind of underpowered as it is, so I definitely don't need things running in the background taking up resources for something that I absolutely never use.
I realize that this is from Microsoft, but I seem to remember having spyware in the past that was less intrusive than this crap.
