Basically in starting anything that uses coding the best thing to do is to plan everything out of say this browser game but at first keep it simple then find out which language your going to need to use and then learn it. Once you've learnt it you can look into making the game. ;]
Hope I helped a little, but there is alot of other tuts and explanations that go further into detail on this forum.

that site...is awesome. you are creepy for wanting to make something involving luring young cheerleaders to one site but im creepy for liking the idea : [ however, a game like that is based on graphics and text-based logic.
know how to make a text-based game in php plus photoshop and you're on your way

There really is no easy in making games. If you want to make browser games the three best options are(in no particular order):
- Flash/Action script
- PHP
- Java applets

Hi,
I'm the creator of Spirit Fever. I'm honored you want to make a game like mine.
Here's a little bit on how we work.
We have one programmer that does only code and is in charge of database and server.
I'm the game designer, producer, webmaster, community manager and translation manager.
We both work for free on our free time since the end of 2006.
We also have hired an freelance artist to do the art.
The game is programmed in GWT, Google Web Toolkit. It allows you code in Java and compiles Javascript directly special code ofr each browser. And it's AJAX, so you never need to refresh the page to make an action. So our mini-games are more interactive that you could do in PHP.
Feel free to ask me if you have any other question.
