I'm a Network Administrator, but I manage/work with our SQL databases every day. The company I work for uses only SQL Server 2005. Knowing SQL helps a lot :) My boss comes up with reports that are very difficult to run because our database was set up by a software vendor, and they made it particularly difficult to get any data out of it so that they could make money creating custom reports. The problem with that is that half of the time they can't do what we want either. Also, knowing reporting software helps a lot, I know my company and a lot of others use Crystal Reports. It's always easiest just to extract data in Crystal, but when that's not possible, the only way is to create views on the SQL server. I don't have a huge amount of experience w/that, I've found myself stuck twice in the last month, once trying to calculate a date by subtracting one week from a certain field (string)/converted, which sounds very easy but I guess I have the wrong join, or the wrong something because I get nothing but errors. But yea, that's been my recent experience ;p

Nice, How do you like the job? is it stressful? good hours? bad hours? Do you work with a lot of people, or are you regularly working on your own?
