Hello everyone,
New poster and new to the XML/CSS scene. I am trying to learn XML on my own and wanted to start simple with a Family home page. I have been looking at tutorials but still somewhat lost. I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction for an example.
I am basically looking for a template or sample of what an XML/CSS designed page of this type could look like. Figured a basic template would work since I want to start out simple with a banner and my family information. I know it would be easier to do it in HTML but trying to learn XML and figured this would be an easy way to start.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,

One of the best websites for examples and tutorials:
http://w3schools.com/
Also, look at
http://tizag.com/
And just as a clarification, HTML is required for making web pages, there is a varient called XHTML and DHTML, but they are all HTML (which is what browsers render when the pages load).
Hope that helps.

Thank you for the quick reply.
So basically I would be using CSS to display a page written with XML? I can still create a basic web page this way though correct? Been messing around a little and the biggest problem has been images and image placement. Was using the tutorial from the first link you gave me but that is mostly for displaying a catalog. Is it possible to create a simple home page as well?

I would not recommend designing an entire web site in XML/CSS.
XHTML/CSS and you can incorporate XML & Javascript to make a nice functional website.
I am not sure you will get too far ignoring (X)HTML.

Not really looking for a entire page. Just something basic for now. Mostly for a family home page for now. Adding the extras would be later, just want the bare bones so to speak now.

XML is generally used to creating feeds. You should use XSLT if you want to style XML, but that still requires HTML and CSS.
As that's the case I would suggest just learning XHTML and CSS.

Needless to say - your best bet as it was stated earlier from BetaWar - Check out W3SChools and Tizag.
