PHP or what?

Hey i wanted to actually start working on the site i have been paying for...but what should i use...some tell me to use php others html others blah blah so i want an answer from an expert! thanks

html is the language for formatting, you will use it or a form of it when you use php. php is for more advanced web scripting, you can pull from databases and make your pages dynamic with it. you'll still have to use html to make that php look nice though ;)

so it depends, do you want static or dynamic? that decides what you need to use.

can you explain the difference between static and dynamic?

in static the site doesn't change until you go into the code and change it.

dynamic is like this site, it pulls information like your view settings, posts per page, your number of posts and renders your page based on this information.

both are fine it depends what you want to do with the page. this site is fully dynamic. my personal site has a dynamic blog with a php template system, but the text on all the pages is loaded from a static file.

define your requirements, then decide on a solution.
