Just found this: http://www.perioncorner.com
Perion Corner seems pretty cool, it's got rips of Maple Story sprites. Can't use them commercially for obvious reasons but if you're just making a demo of an engine, they're pretty cool.

Music Creation: LMMS - Linux MultiMedia Studio
Windows & Linux
LMMS is a free cross-platform alternative to commercial programs like FL Studio®, which allow you to produce music with your computer. This includes the creation of melodies and beats, the synthesis and mixing of sounds, and arranging of samples. You can have fun with your MIDI-keyboard and much more; all in a user-friendly and modern interface.
FREE
Texture rendering: MaPZone
MaPZone is simply the most advanced texturing tool ever. MaPZone is only intended to be used for producing high quality textures, and this is what it does best. Based on a unique and patented technology called the FX Maps, MaPZone is the only procedural tool giving you that much control over your creation.

@X@MPP - Great resources! Thanks for sharing.
Well, so far we have a pretty decent list of resources. Still looking for additions

@ gabehabe - right on! Added. The site in German is a bit confusing but after seeing words that are similar to English (Materials and stuff like that) I decided to add it. Nice work!
