Can I delete or edit old posts? I can edit my new posts but when I tried to edit an old post I was unable.

The answer is no. We had trouble with a lot of members asking questions then wiping out all provided code so nobody else with the same problem could get help. That is also the reason you can't modify a post after a specified amount of time.
If you want to modify a post in a productive manner (which has passed the time limit) feel free to PM a mod and ask them to do it for you.
