Yes. HP laptops have a small button to disable it then when your're ready to use the touchpad, just press it and it is enabled again. :)

My wrist hitting the touchpad was definitely the biggest reason for wanting an extra keyboard.

Tonight I work out some of my shortcut keys, and they work wonderfully thanks to xbindkeys. :D Now I have volume controls again. I'll never need to hit my eject button again either thanks to my keyboard eject :D

Another nice thing about having a wireless keyboard, you have the advantage of having the keyboard on your lap without the HEAT.

I use my laptop keyboard. I can't however, live with out my wireless mouse. My roomie uses a wireless keyboard with hers and a wireless mouse. The only complaint I have about my laptop keyboard is no numberpad built in.

Nope! Since I started regularly using my laptop I find that I cant use anything else. I feel like a drunk ape trying to use a regular keyboard. If anything, I wish I could get a laptop keyboard for my desktop!

Actually the keyboard I wanted is very much like a laptop keyboard. If I remember right, it's an HP... not sure though.

I found it at walmart, and it's really thin.

I use a separate keyboard whenever I do real work on my laptop. The thing is my laptop gets pretty hot so it's not fun to have my hands on it for over an hour at a time.

The IT Manager got a box of goodies that included a flexible keyboard. It looked interesting so I tried it. It was fun at first but that only lasted 5 minutes. I prefer the laptop keyboard. It's consistent in that it always makes the same mistakes - makes debugging much easier!

Laptop keyboards are so easy to use. Its light on the fingertips, and so you don't have to push down as much. Good for when needing to type many words. :^:

I use the built-in keyboard. I used to have an external one, but then setup a Dev Server at my desk so I have it plugged into there. Also I felt like the keyboard was taking up to much space in front of my laptop. Although I want to get a dock that will raise my screen, then I will get an external keyboard.

I personally use my wireless MS Ergonomic keyboard when I use my laptop. I've had Carpal Tunnel for many years now (I refuse to let them operate, my hands are my life and one slip and it's all gone lol) so the little keyboard on the laptop hurts me to use

It kinda seems a bit awkward to carry around a keyboard with your laptop, looks kinda weird...
Either way it just seems a bit unnecessary to have 2 keyboards

It also seems a bit unnecessary to drag up a thread from 2009 just to add two lines of comment... ;)
