Im using vb.net and the database is mysql to write a time management system. how i store date and time to the database?

First of all, thanks you for helping me. I'm using visual studio and VB.NET to write a web-base time management system for many company, This is to use finger print device to capture employee information to store their work-in and work-out time to the MySql database.
In addition, want to create a web-base system using vb.net or insert asp.net that one vb.net?
I'm using vb.net window application. Am i wrong?
