Filing papers and browsing DIC all day at work is what I do best... What do YOU do at work?

My boss literally has no idea what I do all day. I work a standard 9 to 5 at $8.50 an hour. I just do what ever I want all day, and the occasional IT side job. (Showing employees how to rename a file.) Life is good.

That would be the American equivalent of minimum wage.

There is indeed a minimum wage in Canada - differs by province. As in the U.S., some jobs for youth pay minimum wage, some pay higher. Depends on the job and the company.

haha, you are not the first person to ask me that. Sorry, but no. It's a fairly small company.

Minimum wage or not, getting paid to sit around and doing nothing is not a position to complain about pay. LOL :)

I guess if you don't have bills. 8.50 an hour wouldn't pay my electric bill let alone the rest of my bills. Lucky for me I make more than twice that and probably do less.

haha, yeah. I just graduated from High School and still living at home so this is pretty nice for me. But double the pay would be nice!

Haha yeah I've been doing mostly nothing, the only problem is when someone (my boss, coworkers) are walking by I have to quickly improvise as if I'm doing something extremely urgent/important. Otherwise, I'm browsing multiple message boards and e-mailing friends.

10$ an hour, life isn't too bad. ;)

I'm basically in the same situation as you, aaronellington, no bills, living at home for the summer :)

I'm not sure $8.50 an hour for 40 hours a week would make my house payment. Oh how I long for the days when I lived with my Grandmother and had no bills

I know how it is. Other employees always walk by. I'm using a Mac, so Spaces make it easy to switch to something else, like a really complicated looking Terminal script running. haha, When asked I just say I'm testing the integrity of our financial servers. lol But I usually do as you do, browse message boards and email.
