Actually, c++ and java are somewhat similar in concept and portions of the syntax...it is the implementation that differs. With the exception of the first book mentioned in this thread, all the others are good for starting out with C++...since you know java, I expect you will learn c++ very quickly.

Amazon "Thinking in C++"  .

Why not actually download both volumes of the complete book from Bruce Eckel's site free of charge.

Dark Nexus, if you like that "Thinking in C++" book that Cybrid mentioned you may want to try this link. It has the 2nd Edition of that book, free and legal. (No Warez) Look over here...
