My browser doesnt read javascript code

My browser doesnt read javascript code

hey everone, Im just a roookie in javascript and I was trying the first script, right taken from a book, so there's no syntax errors.
My browsers just dont display the javascript code, Im using IE 7.0, latest firefox and netscape. I have no idea why it is now reading the code...
Any ideas???

Do your browsers have Javascript disabled?

Also, is your code hosted on the web or being called locally on your machine? Some browsers have security issues with local code, so you may have to override some default settings if that's the case.
