on a intermittent basis i'm getting the error that coldfusion can not execute the database connection,
while the dsn is correct and on the adminstrator the links are ok.
I'm using dreamweaver mx 2004 with coldfusion and the database is an access database
using the access database driver.
the server is running under windows 2000.
Is there anything i can do to solve this intermittent error.

Do you have the Access DB open when you are getting this error? If so then close it and the error will stop. If you are using it on a Development Platform I would recommend installing an express version of MS SQL server. It is free and works great for development.

I'm getting this error on the production server. not on the development server.

Oh well then truthfully I would recomend using MySQL instead of Access. I have just always found Access to be much less reliable that and actual Database Engine. MySQL is free, and runs great.
