Opinions on NVIDIA Tesla Supercomputer on your Desktop

Has anyone used one of these things?

Apparently 250x faster than a standard PC with 960 parallel processing cores :o

This thing can has 3 teraFLOPS of computing power, thats 3 trillion floating point operations a second!

From what I can tell it's just a workstation with a bunch of NVIDIA cards that support CUDA...

Surely in theory you can use some of this processing power as a GPU and then have some seriously amazing graphical effects.

Who would be needing this power? I mean, other than researcher. Does average programmer need this? :blink:

Much more descriptive than the NVIDIA link...

Looks like it's a card pretty much just for CUDA (which means no graphics).

You can play around with this stuff if you have a GeForce 8 (which you can buy refurbished for around 40$ on Amazon).
