Not sure exactly where to put this - but hopefully this is sufficient.

I know it is a little bit early, 41 days as of this posting but I will forget to mention this down the road.

The seventh annual Ohio LinuxFest will be on September 25-26, 2009 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center, in downtown Columbus, Ohio.

I will be there on the 26th all day if anyone in the Ohio vicinity is interested in meeting up. It is free to attend so if you are interested in learning more about Linux or just want to network or score some cool free swag.

You don't not have to be a Linux enthusiast either, this is a good opportunity to learn more about the great Open Source Community.

Registration is free or they have a supporter package.

I have a 94 Intrepid. I can try to get you there safely lol.

My car (knock on wood) is awesome. I drive 42 miles each way to work with no issues.

I drive 30 miles each way to work each day and pray that I make it LOL! I marked it on my calender. I would have to go on Saturday because I work on fridays. ^__^ We can have awesome crazy fun together, Nykc!!! Don't that sound like fun? *watches Nykc run away in fear*

Actually nothing really is going on till Saturday. Also I have to work all day Friday as well.

All the cool swag is given away earlier on Saturday morning. They always run out of shirts, stickers and distros by mid day.

I know last year the after party Dual Core was there doing a concert. It was a fun time.

Any good talks this year NYKC? I will be attending as I usually do. I will also still be strongly against the "neighborhood" views that were suggested last year

DualCore is pretty fricking awesom, if you look at the pics from last years LinuxFest you will see my bald spot from when I was watching him perform.

They haven't announced all the speakers yet but here is who is going to be there so far.

Other Notable Speakers

OLF 2009 has the return of popular speakers such as:

* Dr. Peter Salus
* Bdale Garbee
* Elizabeth Garbee

More speakers to be announced later.

Peter H. Salus is an aged technological historian. Among his books are "A Quarter Century of UNIX," "Casting the Net," and (most recently) "The Daemon, the Gnu and the Penguin."

Bdale first contributed to Free Software in 1979, has a long history of involvement in the Debian distribution, and is Chief Technologist for Open Source and Linux at HP. His primary hobby seems to be turning all of his other hobbies in to open source projects.

Elizabeth developed an early interest in open source, installing her first Debian machine (with some help!) at age 9. Since then, her main computing interest has been graphics manipulation and digital art. Aside from computers, Elizabeth is a dedicated student who is passionate about music, and enjoys reading comic books.
