most likely. But from what i read, it helps out a ton to have some games that you write in your own spare time to show the companies when applying. ive seen many job postings for major game developers that didnt say even a bachelors was required, but they wanted to see their personal game projects they have developed.

Well, having a portfolio is a given. I wouldn't not do that.

Wow if having games that are made in ones free time then I feel a lot better about where my life may go. I'm currently working on my second game and just created my portfolio webpage. Going into senior year of Highschool.
As far as i know though, the higher your degree is the better your chances are, especially in these economic times where over qualified people are going for low level jobs.

I'd say that from my experience with employers, career advisor's and other students that getting a masters would be a massive improvement to your job prospects but you still need real world, team based experience. If your going to do a masters make sure you've done work outside the course too, maybe even a part time IT job where you work in a team of 4 or more people. Experience, a masters degree and personal drive will really help you get ahead in the industry.

I would think so. Its really how you use the degree and the level in which you are aiming for.
