My CSS stylesheet will not link all of a sudden?

Post icon  Posted 14 August 2009 - 03:04 PM

Hi,

I am in need of help. I am converting a lot of my links to be more secure by adding rewrite properties to them.

As I just figured this out and got it working, now the page that the user is redirected to is only not getting the images that correlate with my css stylesheet.

Any ideas I am losing my mind here?

Thank you.

this results in none of my css being read:
<link href="sYd09.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="screen" />

this results in my divs, font, etc. being read, but my images from my image folder do not appear.
<link href="sYd09.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="screen" />

an example of one of my images that is not appearing:
<img src="Images/postBuyEdit.png" width="215" height="160" />

does it have something to do with the fact that now my url is displayed as mysite.com/post/434 whereas before it was mysite.com/post.php?id=434

Most of the time you will want to give links, images, and the like an absolute path to the file when using mod_rewrite, as they will be looking for the file under where the URL of the page says they are. If you were to try something like so:

<link href="http://www.example.com/sYd09.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="screen" />

I believe it would work.

Also, moved to HTML/ CSS

just before you sent this i was able to get it to work by putting a backslash before the Images folder. it works this way, is it okay to set it up like this? will it help to keep my load time down more than if I were to include the entire absolute path?

thank you.
