I know the canvas tag is html, but it's supposed to be good to use with javascript.

Now as a joke...
I'd also love to see a humorous spoof tutorial on "newbie creating a MMORPG in JS". Yes, I did seriously consider whether JS would evolve to making a MMORPG even plausible.

that depends on the definition of "inventory system" and what it should be able to do. in the end, I guess, its just a custom object.

What I actually want in RPG format (now that I've done more research):

buying/selling from stores
getting those items into an inventory without deleting previous inventory
having Inventory rearrangeable at the whim of the player. (like sorting books on a bookshelf, clothes in a closet... that sort of thing)
a sample inventory code that shows how it all works.

I realize that concantenation can be used to great effect with the adding stuff to the inventory, but I'm still reading in this area as well.

I've just read a small tutorial on OOP. However, it was in Python from the point of view of "windows rules, macs don't exist". I'm still learning about objects, classes, and functions. My ultimate goal, is to have a smaller version of my RPG in Javascript. And, have the larger version done in Python/Ren'Py/Pygame - whichever one I can get to work. lol
