Well, Java is an object orientated programming language, Javascript is a client-side scripting language used mainly for web programming. As far as teaching you Javascript, while we're not tutors here we do help when it is needed. I would start by looking through our HTML/Javascript Tutorials and our Javascript Snippets :)

Java came befor Javascript was born. Then Mozilla came up with a way to show Java applets in webpages. Hence the name JavaScript.

These languages are almost unrelated. Java needs to be compiled while JS is a client side language.
