PHP5 Abstract Classes

Posted 07 September 2005 - 04:31 AM

Well, I have searched through the PHP manual, but I still cannot understand Abstract classes very well  ; I've done OOP before, but I haven't used abstract classes; now I'm creating a Multiporpouse CMS and I have a ton of Classes for each process, and I think an Abstract class could help me to handle all in a more efficient way.

If someone could explain them to me, I would be very gratefull. :D

Thanks in advance.

Oh, and hello to all the community, since this is only my second post :)

If you've done OO before, then you likely know that abstract classes are one of the PHP answers to polymorphism and inheritance. Explaining the concept may take a bit of time, but I've found the following two articles to be helpful, when used in conjunction with the manual...you may find them helpful as well.
