Open studio Pyro Web Rendering Engine

Posted 19 August 2009 - 10:13 AM

So as in the title it a Web Rendering Engine Mainly for Open studio as a web previewer but it can be used in other applications as well it is developed in C#. so if your a Open studio Developer You might want to take a look at Pyro :)

Could we settle for a GIMP vs. PS/IL? Just underneath VS's bubble of usage. Wow, that was poetic.

Anyway...I edited Pyro's wiki page and added a sample for VB.NET and gave them syntax highlighting....For some reason, it wasn't as easy as codeplex said it was gonna be...

I have noticed something about Pyro. There are no screenshots of an actual rendered page anywhere on the codeplex site. Can it render pages? You offer no proof.

Re: Open studio Pyro Web Rendering Engine

I've just seen this thread (thanks to Raynes), I don't see how you're going to give Vivasion a run for my money. If it was actually a commercially viable project and not something I whipped up in a few hours for fun then I would dedicated some of my developers to writing it. But since it's not and I won't, it's irrelevant.

The only advantage that Vivasion would provide was it's developer-oriented analytical tools, which would be pointless due to most browsers handling non-standard code too, as well as offering a different layout. Vivasion was also only planned to parse fully valid XHTML, which would be another + point for it's existance, but since half the web is written by complete idiots, an XHTML-Only browser wouldn't work.. Thus it's absolutely pointless to pursue.

That said, it would be nice to see Pyro.. But I really don't understand what DWM has to do with it in any way, how does it affect how a web page is displayed in a control? Are you writing a web browser or a rendering engine..??
