What do you think of my logic?

Posted 20 August 2009 - 05:33 AM

OK, I'm a teenage student and am encouraged to stop working between 1030 and 1100 to sleep.

The way I see it, if I have done all my work before this "1030" period, and code/answer code problems until 130am, it's the same as sleeping. Or at least should be.

What I'm getting at is that late-night coding is remedial, healing and should form part of any balanced diet.

yeah...ill probably get flamed, but it doesnt make much sense to me. Even if i am coding right before bed, i always stop so i can get sleep and refresh my thought process over night. Sometimes I'll wake up and realize that what im doing could be done easier...or ill completely scrap the program going "wtf was i thinking?" my point is, sleep helps the though process, and therefore the better quality sleep (because sleep is about quality not quantity necessarily) you get the better your coding will be. Going to bed at 130am will not get you very good quality sleep unless of course you've trained your body to live during the night and sleep during the day.

If you have nothing better to do than create a new topic to tell people you don't like going to bed, you need to find a new hobby.

Oh, and...

Why is coding the same as sleeping again?

Actually i try that one time. I did not sleep for like 3-4 days (it was a girl fault as usually) well then i collapse and sleep for a day. Your brain need to rest and coding is not helping :)

1030 and 1100 is the morning.

I think he's saying he'd rather not take the mandatory nap (what school allows high schoolers to nap in the middle of the day?) and code instead.
