My PHP blog. :D

Post icon  Posted 21 August 2009 - 01:03 PM

http://www.evanwhat.com/

I'm fairly new to PHP (just a couple months) but I just completed my first blog with a comments system and CRUD design. I'm very pleased with the outcome, please take a look at evanwhat.com. I'd be happy to take any comments on it's design or workflow. I wish I could show you admin panels as well, since that is where a lot of the actual work came from. I learned a lot from making this blog yet it only took a day to write. So I suggest if anyone here is just now learning PHP that you attempt to write a blog.

As any new blogger should be, I'm dying for any comments on my posts. :]

Wow. That style is pretty cool. :) No objections there.

You seem to have content so I can't rant on that.

The links all work.

Jeez! What can I critisize?

Not enough though. You need to have content relating to your site's purpose. Have a read here so you can improve your blog and your PR: http://www.problogge...ng-a-blog-post/

Also, I don't agree with the font. Its not easy with the eyes, for the normal, non-coding person :)

The design looks good. I would personally like a little more colour than just black/gray/white but at least you used it consistently which is good. I agree with firebolt on the font.

Just one other thing that I thought I would mention. In the title bar of the window it says Evin Rows and on your pages it says Evan Rows. I think you would want that to be consistent.

Well, I am actually changing my domain name to evinrows.com, however my name is Evan Rose. That's why the title bar says evinrows, which represents what site you're on, and the header says Evan Rose, to represent my name. But I see your point.

I would like more color too - maybe a 2 pixel stroke of bright green or something - just a little pop. Also, you have LOT of wasted real estate at the top. Why can't the fancy stroke be implemented into the white area?
