[ask] Oracle Sql Developer Configuration file

Anybody familiar with Oracle Sql Developer?
I try to play around with its sqldeveloper.conf file but don't understand its language, syntax, and environment variables. Like for example AddVMOption command. What is that? What does it do?

AddVMOption is an argument that is passed to java virtual machine.
