Hi all, John B here from the suburbs of Philadelphia, PA. I'm a 22 year old college student enrolled at a community college (took a 3 year 'break', seemed like a good idea at the time). I'm currently in a CompSci II Java class, along with a Windows/DOS Concepts class (which is a complete joke of a class). I'm a short-order cook at what is basically a glorified, sit-down fast food joint - although I will be out of there as soon as the opportunity arises.
I'm definitely a beginner when it comes to programming. I think my biggest accomplishment in high school was creating a simple, command line FTP client. However, since this is my first week coding after an extended vacation from it, I feel like I'm just about starting at the beginning again.
Look forward to interacting here, although I'm sure I'll have more questions than answers I'll gladly help out wherever I can. I'm not just doing CompSci to get a job, but also because I've been mucking about with computers ever since the day my father let me use his Apple II GS, and I really WANT to learn more.
Cheers,
John B.
P.S. This is the most "formal" intro I've ever written on a forum ;p

Hello John, & welcome to Dream In Code!
I'd rather have a short-order cook than a short-tempered cook! Anyday.
Looking forward to seeing you around the forums, & becoming a part of our community!

Hello John. Welcome to DIC!
I have had a few classes like that...enjoy it! You can spend your free time studying for the other classes.
You will soon find out, if you haven't already, DIC is no ordinary site! Well worth the extra effort. You'll see.
