You didn't include Haskell, but you included AppleScript and C--?
My favorite language is either Haskell or Clojure depending on what day it is.

Why are AppleScript and Python on the poll? I'm guessing that scripting languages are allowed so shouldn't it be what is your favorite Programming/Scripting language?

Python is still considered a programming language, whether it was designed for scripting or not.

@Raynes: I knew you could make an executable if you wanted to but I thought that it was considered a scripting lang since it was designed that way and runs as a script. Good point though, Wiki don't lie.
Now that I think of it I did take a python class where it was considered a programming/scripting language...thnx for the correction though

My favorite is PHP. But learning Java this year so that may change!
Other than that I liked Ruby and Python when I was playing around with them but never took to learning much of them!

C#. My friend introduced it to me, it was really the first language I actually began to study.

Python!
You can make real applications with Python, not just scripts. Everyone underestimates the power of Python.

A person's favorite will probably depend on the applications for which they use the language.
For me it is C since it does exactly what I need it do and it is the language that I have used the most recently. But I confess that I am just now learning C++, so it will probably become my favorite as I get into it more.

I like C++ the best. It is well-developed, is powerful, has many powerful tools supporting it, and I know it the best. Plus, you don't have to use the ++ features of it, so you could consider it to include plain, old, "C" too.
Plus, I think if you are just starting out in the field of programming, once you learn C++, most other languages follow easily. For example, Java, Javascript, PHP, Pascal, etc. are very "C"-like. The structures are similar; you just have to learn some changes in syntax.
At least that is how I found them.
