Extract data from a web page?

Post icon  Posted 14 September 2009 - 10:50 AM

Hi I'm just starting mi project so I dont have any code yet. The thing is that I need someones orientation to get started.

I need to periodically pull data from 2 web pages in order to use it for some forecasts. I just need to extract the data so I could store it in SQL server.

Ive read about scraping web pages and the Visual Studio Tools for Office, but Im not sure if I m in the right path. Also both websites have different formats.

They are in spanish but Im sure that you guys could help me only by taking a glance of them. Thanks for any orientation you could give me!

I've always used a webbrowser control to pull information from websites.

You can loop through the HTML Elements and then pull the exact info you need and then store it where ever.
