It varies for me but I'm sure this thread has been done before. Some of the harder rock that doesn't quite hit metal: Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Aerosmith or Queensryche can be awesome to code to. There are times though that I like a little pop type music. I always coded well to Roxette's CD Joyride. There are other times that listening to Enya makes things much easier to code.
What music do you like to "code" to?Anything from Slow Jazz To Pulsing Hard house =D

Depends on how hard the code is, and how distractable I am.
For most coding I have to listen to something that won't distract me, and being mindless and repetitive doesn't hurt. I'll usually turn to Trance/Dance, foreign music is also good. JPop/Anime, t.A.T.u., Caramell...
If what I'm doing is easier or I'm not really distractable I'll put on some Christian music. Hymns, contemporary, whatever just as long as it's not a slow song.

They had a song on one of the Matrix movies, forget which one. The song was Prime Audio Soup. They are amazing, if you are into their style of music.

Hm, depends on my mood. "Modern classic" (LoTR OST (all three), Harry Potter OST (last one), V for Vendetta OST) etc. works best for me. Sounds strange, I know, but with that music I can totally focus myself on my work and forget everything around me.
But Pop/rock is also fine

It mainly depends on the time of the day and/or my current mood. If its a bright and early morning and the caffeine's just kicked in, then its all about good ol' classic rock/metal such as Led Zeppelin, Iron Maiden, AC/DC, etc... the afternoon, on the other hand, calls for bone-crushing and heavy stoner/sludge metal such as Kyuss, Electric Wizard, Orange Goblin, etc... and finally, the evening calls for more introspective and chill-out stuff such as Depeche Mode, The Beatles, Imogen Heap, etc... this will eventually progress into more ambient stuff as the dawn draws to a close - stuff like Brian Eno and Sunn O))) are what I'm listening to right now at 0100 hrs.
Coding is an art-form and music is my muse.

listening to music and coding may be hazardous for me. I like music, but I'm talking Bryan Adams, Michael Bolton, don't know all these new bands. But, I say hazardous, because instead of typing code, if I'm busy singing along the words, my fingers have a life of its own and start typing the words I'm saying... freaky.

It has been a dream of mine for a very long time to blast Rick Ross - Hustlin' while being naughty with a hot ladyfriend.
Too bad I only have crappy computer speakers..
And for coding anything without too good lyrics.

Something without lyrics, preferably. If there are lyrics, then hopefully the rhythm/guitar riff is enough to keep me off of them.
If you're wondering why no lyrics. If a song that is meaningful to me somehow comes on while I'm coding, I'll skip it. It's so I don't lose focus.
Examples: The Black Mages, Powerglove, orchestral music (Nobuo Uematsu is one of my favorites)...etc. And one song by Rammstein--Otherworld.
