REMEMBER: Roll back them clocks...

Posted 30 October 2005 - 12:14 AM

Daylight savings time goes into effect at 2 am tonight so make sure to set your clocks back an hour.

Its Daylight Saving...not savings.

It where we "Stupid Americans" try to trick time to get more daylight durning the summer months.

All it really does is confuse the hell out of everyone.

I went to Phoenix a few months ago, from Georgia. I love Phoenix..but that time difference was really hard to get used to!!!

It will be even more confusing in 2007...the US has decided to extend the period by two months...most majot trading partners will likely be forced to follow suit...I know the province (Ontario, Canada) in which I live has already committed to the changes as well.

And it's not actually tricking time....it's tricking people...well, not tricking exactly, but changing their schedules and habits.

It's being done to cut down on energy usage (so the reasoning goes).

The board still seems to be showing me posting times in British Summer Time not Greenwich Mean Time, we went back an hour at 2am on Sunday. :D

Cheers

i forgot that it was daylight savings until someone at the party remembered at midnight, and made everyone gather at the keg and fill their cups for a toast to an extra hour of partying.

my phone and my computer both set their clocks back automatically so i didn't really have to do anything though. haha.

hahahah that happened to me. I went to jacksonville for the UF/georgia game (big rivals), and started drinking at like 8am, and by 4am came around back in gainesville someone realized it was daylight saving time and I was like fucckkkkkk, another hour of this shit? It was awesome. Oh well, I can still go into work another hour late and blame it on that.
