Good Beginning Game Programming Book

Hey guys! I have a decent knowledge of C++ and I want to start learning to make Windows programs and games of that type. I am currently using the Beginning Game Programming book by Michael Morrison, but the games are not working right after I compile them.

I am curious if there are any good books you guys know of that use C++ and teach beginning Game Programming using the Windows API.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

It is a bit dated but Sams Teach Yourself Game Programming in 24 Hours wasn't a bad book.

Well, for Windows, i recommend DirectX

If you are using XNA here are some tutorials that helped me and i am using them now.
