If you're using Visual Studio, there's a button to release it.

so I lied. I was thinking of VB and C#. Anyways, the thing is, that unless you're going from windows to linux and even then only if you use windows specific commands, it should work. What errors do you get when you move it to the other computer?

nope, you didn't lie. i found it. you click on build, then batch build. there is a box next to "release" that you can click on there. that puts a new folder called "release" in the application folder. you can drag this into your network or send it through e mail, whatever. as long as the user has the entire file on thier computer ("release"), they can run the program. thanks a lot. have a good one.

Well, the problem with that is this, C++ code should be extremely portable.
Are you using the stdafx.h? Even then, it should still be as simple as giving them the exe. So something else is going on with this particular case.

As way of example, if I build a c++ program that simply outputs hello world, anyone should be able to double click and run it.

I allready have a way of running it in linux. i just needed a way of running it on other windows computers.

i have attatched the file. you should be able to download this and run it simply by double clicking on the .exe file. this release is only for windows. i have a separate one for Linux.

I can. My point is it shouldn't require you to do anything special. Just building it and creating an exe should be sufficient.
