how to run python in window without IDE

I am new to python and learning it from" Dive into Python".
According to this, i have to download "ActivePython". But i can't download it. Moreover, i don't know how to run python. Could you tell me how to run it in window.

To run python in windows you must have python installed. Download python from here.
