I have to declare my major soon and I want to declare it in math.. Where would this be useful? besides the obvious memorization of formulas for programming.
What can I do with a math major?

Moved this to the Corner Cube. If you want serious opinions and answers this is more appropriate then the Lounge.
You’re new, but you will find that Lounge topics quickly get off topic and out of control.

cool! I think I want to be a project manager (not sure if that's the technical name). What I have in mind is I want to have an office and manage programmers. But I don't know I also wouldn't mind being a high school calculus professor.

Teacher.
Kind of the same boat as an English Major ( yours truly ), only with less writing. And syntax that most word processors will make small gaging noises at.
Consider a minor in something leaning toward a field that will pay the bills. There are many disciplines that are exceptionally math heavy. Pure math is a little like philosophy degree. Sure, it's everywhere, but employers don't usually look for it specifically.
That said, a degree is a degree. The specifics of a BS are far less important than most students realize. Most people end out working outside their specialty. Do what you like. You'll find some way to apply it. Have fun.

Is it a bachelor or master?
The former won't give you anything, but the latter will make you quite attractive to lots of employers, especially if you're specialized in statistics or finance.

I'm assuming you speak from a regional perspective lafayette...I have a bachelor's in math (and one in computer engineering), and am very attractive to employers.

As Lafayette said, math is really good for statistical fields like insurance with dealing with actuarial table or finance. You could also (more for the people w/grad degrees) work for the CIA or NSA on something like cryptography and setganography.

I agree with KYA I have a minor in mathematics right now, and I'll go back soon to get the major, and hopefully one day the p.h.d. but for now I'm a software consultant. You can do anything you want in life with a good understanding of mathematics.
