This Is It

Posted 28 October 2009 - 06:03 PM

So did anyone catch the Michael Jackson movie showing the rehersals for his concert This Is It? I just saw it today. It just reiterates the fact that he was truly a musical genius, and a good person. He even took the time to highlight many of his backup crew, like one guitarist and a couple backup singers. It's such a shame that he let himself slip into the drug-addict lifestyle.

What are your all's thoughts here? Please discuss!

**Note: Please avoid flaming the man or getting into a flame war w/each other. I know some of you all out there have strong, negative opinions about the man for whatever reason. But please, let's focus on the postives here, not the negatives! :)

I saw when his hair caught on fire while filming the 7up commercial. Probably this was better than the movie.

I saw the movie last night at midnight...crazy! It made me appreciate him for who he was really, not how both he is depicted in an actual concert or how the media portrays him. He really was a sweet man who was a talented perfectionist and a man who truly loves his "family" (the people he worked with).

Also, he remains the king of pop even in his death.

Not really into necrophilia. If this guy got half as much adulation as his corpse is getting he mightn't have arrived at that state so soon.

It feels like the movie is just providing more feed for the vultures.

Do keep in mind that before his death, the tour he was planning sold out. I remember watching the news the day of the announcement. They were following his car by helicopter so they could follow him to the event where he was going to make the official announcement for his upcoming tour. So it's not as though he went from nobody to idol overnight. Besides, that happens to everyone when they die. Even when it's just a random person. If somebody at a local high school dies, all the people who bullied him were suddenly their best friend and knew them so well.

Someone's got to clean up the corpses. Not only do vultures do it for free, they even eat the remains and use it as fuel! Nature can be so efficient at times~

Doubtless. Still, it was hard to tell if the media followed him around for pop popularity or just to see if he'd try to drop another kid out a window. His penchant for the bizarre had long since overshadowed his commercial success.
