Putting the music in music

Posted 12 November 2009 - 10:10 PM

Having a discussion with KYA via Steam, I came to the conclusion that the music industry is ran by amateurs. Where is the music? There's no singing, no real music, no real talent.

http://www.youtube.c...h?v=dyBI4Y7Dz6c <----- This is a prime example. Seriously? Come on.

Conclusion: If you want to record an album, you should have at least 4 years of opera training. That should weed out all the crap. Also, you should be banned from wearing retardedly huge "jewelry" and clocks and Viking helmets. Who agrees?

((Another example of someone who obviously can't sing http://www.youtube.c...h?v=JqlY0VOFtyA ))

Good music is still produced today (eg. Dream Theatre, Coheed and Cambria, 3 (yes that is a band, very good, similar to Coheed), etc. etc. (too lazy to list more) ) but the problem is POP music today. If you want a culprit I would blame society, NOT the music industry. BTW since when was art an industry? Isn't art just art? Maybe that's why "pop" music sucks so hard.

It's always been referred to as an industry. I never said there wasn't any good bands out there, I said the industry is run by no talent amateurs.

If you don't want crap, then don't give time to the venues that offer crap. Support local music. Turn off your Radio & MTV & listen your cds. Support local music.

Is it really that difficult?

Maybe if they took all that effort from suing people and put it into finding good talent. But it's not about the music, now is it? It's about lining peoples pockets.
