Application Testing

Posted 27 December 2005 - 07:54 AM

EDIT : WIN NT users dont try it now, my API doesnt work for NT , trying to fix NT bug.

Hello,
ive designed an application that would Initially Scan the system and ready everything need for the main database application to run.

currently ive only completed the part of system scanning and analysis by API calls.

now, i'd like you to dl all the attachments coming with this post and the 3 other following posts.. (the program and associated files are too large to be attached to one post)

the scan program will populate the textbox below the label "activity log" and give the details in it.

now before you run the application, make sure that the files MBTimer.ocx and MBprgbar.ocx is in the C:\windows\system32 folder.

EDIT: found copy bug. its all ok now

Attached File(s)

this attachment contains the supporting fonts...

==========================================
Description
==========================================

these files and fonts are necessary as they may not be available on your system. ive used an API call to firstly to determine whether a particular file or folder exists or not, if not then copy the file from the folder which contains those files to Either C:\windows\fonts or C:\Windows\system32.

this is successfful on my PC so far. i want to test it on yours

there done.

the inital form will ask for the folder(s) where you have put the files and fonts, make sure that all fonts are in one folder, and all files (.OCX and .DLL) are in another folder (all files must be in the same folder)

when you enter the folder path. make sure that a trailing "\" is there after the folder name.

Im sorry that i cant currently post the source code, as im not really very sure of it.. if your replies are satisfactory then ill continue with the completion and after that ill post the entire source code.
